Event Photography
LEGO Serious Play Workshop at Equals Amsterdam
When an event is built around interaction, creativity, and meaningful conversations, the photography needs to do more than document what happened. It needs to capture the energy in the room, the connection between people, and the value of the experience itself.
For this evening event photoshoot, VisioWaves photographed a LEGO Serious Play workshop facilitated by Julia Jelińska, owner of Clarity Power. The workshop took place at Equals Amsterdam, a community and clubhouse dedicated to supporting women and other underrepresented groups in their career growth, connection, equality, and visibility.
The Collaboration
Julia led the workshop for Equals members and guests who joined the event, creating a space for reflection, conversation, and hands-on exploration through the LEGO Serious Play method. The goal of the photoshoot was to give Julia a strong visual library that would communicate both the atmosphere of the workshop and the depth of her work as a facilitator.
For a personal brand or service-based business, event photos can become much more than a record of one evening. They become proof of expertise, trust, engagement, and presence. That was the heart of this collaboration: to create images Julia could use across her website, LinkedIn profile, content, presentations, and future communication around Clarity Power.
The Process
The workshop took place in the evening, which brought a warm and intimate feeling to the space. Equals Amsterdam offered a beautiful setting, with enough openness and architectural variety to photograph the event from different perspectives. This made it possible to capture both close, detailed moments and wider views of the full room.
During the shoot, we focused on the natural rhythm of the workshop: participants building, listening, sharing, reflecting, and responding to each other. Because the LEGO Serious Play format is so visual and tactile, the details mattered: hands working with bricks, small constructions on the tables, facial expressions, conversations, and the facilitator guiding the process.
The venue also allowed for elevated shots from upstairs, giving a broader perspective on the group and showing the scale of engagement in the room. These different angles helped create a varied gallery, balancing atmosphere, action, detail, and overview.
The Experience
The atmosphere throughout the evening was open, creative, and highly engaged. Participants were not simply attending a workshop; they were actively involved in the process. This created exactly the kind of visual story that event photography is meant to preserve: authentic concentration, interaction, curiosity, and shared energy.
Rather than interrupting the flow of the evening, the photography followed the movement of the workshop. This documentary approach helped the images feel natural and alive. The result is a collection that shows Julia not only as a speaker or facilitator, but as someone who creates space for people to think, connect, and participate fully.
The Result
After the event, Julia received a versatile library of images that she can use in many different ways. The photos support her website, LinkedIn presence, future posts, speaker materials, and content about her work and experience. Instead of relying on generic visuals, she now has authentic images that show her expertise in action.
For Clarity Power, the photos communicate more than the fact that an event took place. They show the atmosphere, the engagement, the method, and the value of Julia’s facilitation. For VisioWaves, this is what makes event photography powerful: it turns one meaningful evening into long-term visual content that strengthens a brand with clarity, consistency, and credibility.
